Rishabh, coming first to your question. Yes, you would have seen the message posted by our Consulate in Toronto that they have had to cancel the consular camp that they were planning to organize over the weekend because they did not get adequate security or security assurance from the host government. So that was the reason why these consular camps have been cancelled. As you know, we have a large diaspora in Canada. Many of these people, especially around the month of November, December, they need several documentations for continuation of their pensions and several other activities here in India. So this consular camp that we do is helpful to the community, to both people of Indian nationality and people who are of Indian origin but Canadian nationals today. So that is the reason why the consular camps have had to be cancelled. But I do understand that in other parts of Canada, Vancouver for example, the consular camps will be conducted. These consular camps are conducted at the request of the community organizations. So, where the community organization is comfortable, we will go ahead with these consular camps.
The other question you had was about recent escalations etc. On that you have seen our comments that we made. We condemned the attack on the temple in Brampton and we also called upon the Canadian government to uphold rule of law and to bring to justice people who perpetrated the violence. We hope that the Canadian government will take due action.

Our Joint Secretary, JP Singh, who oversees Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran in our Ministry, traveled to Afghanistan, specifically to Kabul. This took place on the 4th and 5th of November. There, he met with several Ministers and senior officials. They discussed many topics, especially around the humanitarian assistance we provide to Afghanistan. They also discussed the Chabahar port, and as you may have seen, we recently signed an agreement related to it, establishing a new regulatory framework. They explored how Afghan business communities and groups could use this port, now a new connectivity corridor. Additionally, as you may recall, over recent months and years, we have provided Afghanistan with significant humanitarian aid. I’d like to reiterate that we have provided 50,000 metric tons of wheat, 40,000 liters of Malathion pesticide, 300 tons of medicines, and 28 tons of earthquake relief materials. As you know, we have long-standing, historical ties with Afghanistan and its people at both the ground and community levels, and this relationship will continue to guide our approach towards the country.
So, we had a delegation led by Mr. J P Singh, who is a Joint Secretary in charge of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran in the Ministry of External Affairs. He visited Kabul on 4th and 5th of November. During the visit, he had several meetings with the Afghan Minister, including with the acting Defense Minister. He also called on former President Hamid Karzai. He also met the head of UN agencies there and several other senior Ministers. They had discussions on the India's humanitarian assistance that we are providing to people in Afghanistan, as also how the Chabahar port can be utilized by the business community in Afghanistan for transactions and for export and import and any other thing that they would like to do for. I also want to recall here that providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan is an important part of our assistance program and so far in the last month, few months and few years, we have dispatched several shipments of humanitarian assistance, which includes 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat, 40,000 litres of Malathion, which is a pesticide, 30 tonnes of medicines and 28 tonnes of earthquake relief aid. We have, as, you know, we have long-standing ties with the people of Afghanistan and these ties will continue to guide our approach towards the country.
Krishna Mohan ji, you would have seen our statements that we made condemning the incident of violence in Brampton. You would have also seen that our Prime Minister also expressed and strongly condemned what is going on there. We hope that the Government of Canada will take due action, strong action against the perpetrators and uphold rule of law. That is what our expectation is.
Ayushi, External Affairs Minister is in Sydney today. You would have seen that he was some time back speaking to the Business Community CEOs. He was addressing a CEO's round table. He also had a meeting with Australian Foreign Minister, where they together attended the 15th India-Australia Framework Dialogue. As part of the dialogue, all issues were discussed and yes, External Affairs Minister did discuss all our security concerns that we have with Australia. So, I would like to that for you.
Yeshi on India-US ties. Look, this India-US partnership is a special, very special and multifaceted partnership. Our Prime Minister spoke to President Trump yesterday. Before that, he also sent a message on X-post congratulating him on his historic election victory. As fellow democracy, India celebrates this expression of people's mandate in the United States. The Prime Minister conveyed to the President-elect that we look forward to working very closely, as he had done with him earlier as well, closely to further strengthen India-U.S. comprehensive global and strategic partnership. Both India and the United States will work for the betterment of the people and to promote global peace and stability and prosperity. So first, Siddhant, regarding your question about Canada blocking or banning Australia, the prominent outlet there, Australia Today... yes, you have heard it correctly. We have also seen that the... or we understand that the social media handles and pages of this particular outlet, which is an important diaspora outlet, has been blocked and are not available for viewers in Canada. This happened just an hour or so, a few hours after this particular handle carried the press conference of External Affairs Minister along with Penny Wong. And the particular media outlet also had several articles on the visit of the External Affairs Minister as also an interview of External Affairs Minister, so we were surprised. It looks strange to us. But nonetheless, what I will say that these are actions which yet again highlight the hypocrisy of Canada towards freedom of speech. You would have said... you would have seen that EAM and his media engagement, interaction, he spoke about three things. One was Canada making allegations and a pattern has developed without any specific evidence. Second thing, highlighted was that surveillance of Indian diplomats have been happening in Canada, which he termed as unacceptable. And then third thing which he highlighted was the political space which is being given in Canada to anti-India elements. So you can draw your conclusions from that why Australia Today channel was blocked by Canada.
Regarding a question on Mizoram, I have not seen those comments, but I will come back to you. These are... we have had issues there, because of Myanmar security situation. We have talked about fencing also earlier, some of the proposals that are there in the offing. So, I will come back to you after we have some clarity on that.
Runjhun, yes, I would like to tell you that we had asked for security to be provided for our diplomats where the consular camp was to be held and those have not been provided by the Canadian side.
Keshav, I have been here for a year or so, a little less than a year, but have been following developments in regard to Canada-India relations. You would have seen over last year or even more the kind of things that we have seen attacking Indian diplomats, threatening, intimidating, harassing Indian diplomats. I was myself based in New York. So there also I have had a close engagement on these issues. So, I would say yes, threats have increased. Surveillance, we talked about surveillance in my last engagement that surveillance, Indian diplomats are put under surveillance, which is totally unacceptable. The External Affairs Minister also has spoken about it. We had also taken up the matter very strongly with the Canadian side on it.
On EAM's visit on peace, of course, when Foreign Ministers of two countries meet, when the External Affairs Minister goes abroad, he talks about geopolitical issues, regional issues, global issues, and in that peace initiatives, what is happening in West Asia, how things should be better, what can be done to improve situation in Russia-Ukraine. On Russia-Ukraine, you know what our position is. We emphasize on dialogue and diplomacy as a way forward. We have also made it very clear that India stands ready to contribute in whatever possible manner we can so, that there will be peace in that part of the world. So ,all these issues, these are important issues, they were discussed as part of his engagement with the Foreign Minister. We yet again, urge the government of Bangladesh to take strong measures to ensure the safety of Hindus and to take action against extremist elements.

Suhasini, on your question regarding ICWA hosting a workshop. Yes, we did have a workshop, which I understand, on 5th and 6th of November. As an important neighboring country of India, developments in Myanmar are naturally of interest to us and to other stakeholders, including our academic community, our think tank community, and our business community. They have been over a period of time off and on, on a regular basis, organizing some interaction with various stakeholders in Myanmar, and on 5th and 6th of November, I understand, the Indian Council for World Affairs, they organized one particular workshop on Indian experience on constitutionalism and federalism, where they invited stakeholders from various segments of the Myanmar society. And it is our understanding that such interactions, we hope, will contribute to deliberations on developing a Myanmar-led and Myanmar-owned solution to address the country's current challenges. India remains, on its part, a steadfast supporter of democracy, peace and stability in Myanmar.
Divya, on your question, we've seen such reports. Our position on this particular issue has been very clear, consistent, and is very well known. So that is where I'll stop.
